At SAKA International CIC, we believe that when a woman learns, her entire community benefits.

Our Iqraa project — named after the Arabic word for “Read” — is dedicated to promoting education, skills development, and lifelong learning for women from all walks of life, particularly those who face social, cultural, or economic barriers to opportunity.

Opening Doors Through Learning

For many women, especially those adapting to new environments or managing family responsibilities, accessing education can feel out of reach.
Iqraa was created to help remove those barriers.

We provide a welcoming environment where women can:

• Improve literacy, language, and communication skills
• Access workshops on digital skills, health education, and financial confidence
• Receive mentoring and guidance to pursue training, further education, or employment opportunities

Each session is built around inclusion, respect, and encouragement — ensuring that every learner feels valued and supported.

Education as Empowerment

The Iqraa project is about more than lessons — it’s about transformation.
Through education, women gain not only skills but also the confidence to engage in their communities, support their families, and take on leadership roles.

By promoting access to learning, we help women overcome isolation, challenge inequality, and build brighter futures for themselves and those around them.

Research and Collaboration

In collaboration with TLSPH Ltd, SAKA International CIC incorporates research into education and women’s empowerment into the Iqraa programme.
We study how education affects wellbeing, community engagement, and economic independence — using real data to improve our methods and ensure that our programmes meet women’s evolving needs.

This evidence-led approach strengthens our ability to advocate for equitable education opportunities in the UK and internationally.
